ERC sends emergency action teams to Mar Gerges church in Tanta and St Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria

Immediately after the bombing at Mar Gerges church in Tanta and St Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria, the Egyptian Red Crescent on Sunday 9 April 2017, a number of emergency action teams to the two churches. ERC volunteers divided themselves into work groups inside and outside the two churches to provide first aid to the injured and help to evacuate the place, as well as offering assistance in the transfer of bodies, in cooperation with the ambulance service in the Ministry of Health.
Right after transferring all the injured and the bodies, ERC volunteers headed to the hospitals where the injured were transferred to in order to offer psychological support to them and their families.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has also provided a number of blood donation vehicles to help supplying hospitals with the needed blood to treat patients.
