The Egyptian Red Crescent Provides Accessibility and Emergency Services at the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12)
The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) is actively participating in
the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12), held in Egypt from November 4 to 8, by
offering accessibility and essential emergency services. The ERC has provided
60 wheelchairs to facilitate the participation of individuals with mobility
impairments. Additionally, trained emergency response teams, fluent in multiple
languages and equipped with mobile gear and electric golf carts, have been
deployed to assist delegations during their visits and provide first aid
services as needed at the forum venue.
Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity and Vice
Chairperson of the ERC Board, supervised the logistical arrangements for the
ERC's participation in the forum and directed efforts to meet all requirements
for a successful contribution.
Dr. Amal Imam, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red
Crescent, emphasized that the ERC's participation aligns with its commitment to
supporting the success of national and international events held in Egypt. With
over 20,000 attendees from various countries expected to participate in the
forum, the ERC's role is critical in ensuring an inclusive and seamless
experience for all participants.
