Inspection Visit to the Logistics Services Center and Customs Warehouse of the Egyptian Red Crescent
Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity and Vice Chairperson of the Egyptian Red Crescent, conducted an inspection visit to the Egyptian Red Crescent's Logistics Center in Arish City, North Sinai Governorate. The center aims to support Gaza by facilitating the transportation of humanitarian aid. Accompanying the minister were Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development; Major General Khaled Mogaweer, Governor of North Sinai; and Dr. Amal Imam, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent.
This visit marks a significant step in enhancing the Egyptian Red Crescent's efforts to provide humanitarian support to Gaza. During the visit, the minister reviewed the operations within the logistics center, which spans an area of 10,000 square meters. The center is dedicated to ensuring a swift and efficient response to humanitarian needs in Gaza through optimal storage and distribution of relief aid.
Dr. Maya Morsy monitored the workflow at the center and commended the efforts of the Egyptian Red Crescent teams in sorting and packaging the aid sent to Gaza. The center handles the storage of various types of humanitarian assistance, with teams classifying and verifying the supplies to meet international standards for entry into the Gaza Strip.
In the same context, Dr. Morsy inspected the customs warehouse managed by the Egyptian Red Crescent. The warehouse, established with facilitation from the Cabinet, is designed to store humanitarian aid arriving by air and sea for Gaza. It aims to prevent the congestion of trucks at the Rafah border crossing.
